  7 p.m.                                    Buffet dinner - includes BBQ Baby Back Ribs, BBQ Chicken,
                                                 Grilled Tri-Tip, Roasted potatoes, baked beans, corn on the cob,
                                                 potato salad, coleslaw, and dessert.
                                                Traditional dress encouraged.

Lalo was born in 1954.  He is currently Director (8yrs.) of the Cultural and Historical Preservation of the Santa Rosa Rancheria, Tachi-Yokut Tribe of Lemoore, California. He has been married for 24 years to Darlene Taplera, a member of the Wukchumni Tribe of Visalia, California, and he is the proud father of three children. 

He resides in Visalia, California.  His mother, Maria Torres was born in 1929 and is a citizen of the Cora Nation, Sinaloa, Mexico.  His father, Librado Garcia Franco was born in 1908 and is a citizen of the Yokut and Chumash Nations of California. 

He grew up with his family in Fresno, California in an area known as Chinatown where his parents were Restaurant owners.  He graduated from Edison High School in 1972 and attended Fresno State University in pursuit of a degree in California history and Anthropology.  He served three years in the military with the United States Marine Corps, 1973 to 1976.

He takes pride in passing on to his children and the youth of the community, the rich culture and traditions such as songs, history, and Creation stories that make the Tachi-Yokut who they are.  He has traveled to many tribal communities and has participated in many ceremonies and gatherings to support their cultures and values.

                                      Speaker: Jerome V. DeGraaf

“Geology of the Sierra Nevada”  Mr. DeGraaf has been with the USDA Forest Service for 30 years, and has served as an environmental or engineering geologist on National Forests in Utah and California. He is an Adjunct Professor for the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at CSU Fresno.

Sunday Breakfast Buffet @ 17.50/per person

This buffet includes farm fresh scrambled eggs, crisp bacon, sausage links,

hash browns, country potatoes, fresh seasonal fruits, assorted bakery

pastries and muffins, yogurts, fruit preserves, coffee, juices, teas and milk
