San Diego, Calif.
Meeting to be held jointly with the
Early San Diego Regional History Conference
"In 2007 member of the Eta Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma
Society International, a society of women educators, joined with local
historians, community members, and specialists from Cabrillo National Monument
and Old Town State Historical Park to organize the first conference on the
origins of the region, concentration on the peoples of the San Diego region
prior to 1848. As teachers and community members, we knew that information on
our region's history prior to 1848 was scant yet needed by public school teacher
to teach this subject."

has been sponsored by a nonprofit collaborative of the San Diego Unified School
District, Old Town State Historic Park, the San Diego County Office of
Education, and regional parks and museums. The collaborative goals are "to
promote the learning of accurate, inclusive history of the San Diego
region--Southern and Baja California".
Los Californianos meeting in 2012 will include the Traveling
Genealogy Library as part of the Saturday conference and Los Californianos
members will be able to attend the conference sessions of speakers and panels.
