Thanks you very much for this help. Is there
also any information on Guadalupe
Bee? He is also supposed to
be related to Vasquez
and my Aman
is also shown in the 1880 census as his nephew. The Bandit Vasquez
was Mrs. Guadalupe
Bee's nephew or cousin.
Respuesta a Pregunta 285 - 30 August 2008More search is needed because Benito Roble's parents were not Jose Antonio Nieves Robles and Maria Petra Vasquez because Jose Antonio de los Nieves died in 1822, only a few months after he had taken as a bride, Petra Vasquez. His son Policarpio, was born after Jose Antonio’s death. [Robert Stone (nonmember), Auburn, Calif.] Respuesta a Pregunta 285 - 17 June 2005According to Marie Northrop's Spanish-Mexican Families of Early California: 1769-1850, vol. II, pp. 315-317: Maria Petra Vasquez [born 1 August 1800 of Tiburcio Vasquez and Ana Maria Antonia Bojorquez; baptized 2 August 1800 at Mission Santa Clara] married 16 June 1822 at Mission Santa Clara to Jose Antonio Nieves Robles [age 24 years]. Tiburcio [born about 1755 at Agualulco, Guadalajara, Mexico of Juan Atanasio Vasquez and Maria Gertrudis Castelo; buried 28 October 1827 at Mission Santa Clara] married 26 October 1775 at Mission San Javier del Bac, Sonora, Mexico to Ana Maria Antonia Bojorquez [born about 1760 at Villa de Sinaloa, Sinaloa of Jose Ramon Bojorquez and Maria Francisco Romero; buried 7 May 1827 at Mission Santa Clara]. They had 13 children between 1776 and 1802. Petra was the next to last. Tiburcio came with his parents to Alta California with Anza in 1775. He was poblador at San Francisco 1776; poblador at San Jose 1777; living at San Jose 1790, 1792, 1794, 1799; and alcalde at San Jose 1802, 1807. His grandson was the bandit, Tiburcio Vasquez. Pregunta 284 - 17 June 2005I am researching the land that was once the Rancho Las Cienegas in Los Angeles. I know that the patent was granted in 1871 to Francisco Abila's children Januario Abila, Pedra Abila de Ramirez, Francisca Abila de Rimpau, and Louisa Abila de Garfias. What I'd like to know is how the land was divided among them along with any information anyone has regarding to whom and when each sibling sold their holdings. On 13 November 1844 at Mission San Antonio she married Mariano de Jesus Soberanes as his second wife. Gray (member), San Diego, Calif.] Pregunta 282 - 5 June 2005Hello, do you have any information on Antonio Maria Lugo, and also if he or anyone in his past/future family have any relationships with Father Jose Maria Lugo. [Manuel Lugo (nonmember), Wilmington, N.C.] Respuesta a Pregunta 282 - 5 June 2005You do not specify the time period when or place where your Antonio Maria Lugo lived so I do not know if my information applies. Marie Northrop's Spanish-Mexican Families of Early California: 1769-1850, vol. II, pp. 207-10 has information on an Antonio Maria Lugo as follows. Antonio Maria Lugo [baptized 13 June 1778 at Mission San Antonio; 7th child, 4th son of Francisco Salvador de Lugo and Juana Maria Rita Martinez; buried 3 February 1860 at Los Angles Plaza Church] married first Maria Dolores Ruiz [born 20 May 1783 of Efigenio Ruiz and Maria Rosa Lopez (came in the 1781 Expedition to Alta California); baptized 28 May 1783 at Mission Santa Barbara; buried 14 March 1829 at Mission San Gabriel] on 17 January 1796 at Mission Santa Barbara. They had 13 children, including their third son and fourth child Jose Maria Lugo, but he married Maria Antonia Rendon (Avila) so is unlikely to be your Father Jose Maria Lugo. Antonio married second Maria Florentina de Jesus German [baptized 14 January 1828 at Mission San Gabriel; parents Manuel German and Felipa Ruiz] on 8 March 1842 at Mission San Gabriel. They had 8 children. Antonio Maria Lugo was grantee of Rancho San Antonio in 1810; alcalde at Los Angeles in 1816-18; juez de campo in 1833-34; member of ayuntamiento in 1837-38; grantee of Chino in 1841; and was the "most prominent of the Lugos in the Southland."
