My grandmother was Natividad Marron, daughter to Juan Maria Marron and Matilda Ames. How can I contact # 327 from the queries in Jan 2006?? I have the Marron's back to Rafael Marron [William Gilbert Burgess (nonmember)] Pregunta 326 - 14 December 2005I am seeking information regarding the marriage of my grandmother, Margarita Viviana Espinosa, to Jose Bonifacio Rico [born 14 May 1860 in California]. My grandmother's birth date is 22 February 1861. My grandmother is the daughter of Josefa de los Santos Boronda [born 1826] and Carlos Cayetano Espinosa [born 1815 in Soledad, Monterey, County]. Thank you. [Marilyn Crovo (applicant), Citrus Heights, Calif.] Respuesta a Pregunta 326 - 30 December 2010Jose and Margarita were my great-grandparents. I have record that they lost their four-year-old son Carlos in 1889, so they were probably married around 1884. They went on to have eight or nine other children and there are now hundreds of their descendants all over the world. They were eventually divorced and Jose remarried. I do not believe Margarita remarried, but I'm not sure. If you want to know more about the Ricos, e-mail me at EARBIZZ@AOL.COM . VAYA CON DIOS. [Andrew Saenz-Rico (nonmember), Oakdale, Calif.] Respuesta a Pregunta 326 - 7 April 2006Dear Marilyn, See family tree charts on the wall inside Casa Boronda, records on Josepha at Soledad Mission, Carlos Cayetano Espinosa at Mission San Carlos Borremo in Carmel. (See his looking glass and leather shield and lance in Museum.) I suggest you visit Monterey County Historical Society. I'm the first in 13 generations to live off of their Rancho Bolsa de Escarpines and Rancho Los Gatos/Santa Rita. [Teresa Russell y Espinosa de Boronda (nonmember), Long Beach, Calif.] Pregunta 325 - 14 December 2005I am preparing to submit my pedigree to Los Californianos. My brother, Calvin Merz, was a member. He died in 1996. The name "Gonzales" is listed among his family names. I do not show that name on a family tree compiled by my cousin, Ernest Kohlmeister, also a member. Can anyone help me find the Gonzales connection? Thank you. [Marilyn Crovo (applicant), Citrus Heights, Calif.] Pregunta 324 - 14 December 2005
My great grandmother was Marie
Cantua Moreno, member #273. She died in 1991. I
would like to know more about my family line. She had extensive files on our
genealogy, however, they seem to have disappeared after her death. I would
appreciate any information on her family lines.

Pregunta 323 - 26 November 2005Wanting to know Anastacio
Garcia's brothers' and sisters' names, births and parents. Respuesta a Pregunta 323 - 2 May 2006 Seeking to contact Patsy Mendoza Castro de Ludwig regarding 1822 Chihuahua Census. dalucetx@hotmail.com [Dan Luc (nonmember), Dallas/Fort Worth, Tex.]Respuesta a Pregunta 323 - 7 April 2006I think Anastacio
Garcia was a friend of Tiburcio
Vasquez bandido extraordinaire. (Friends and neighbors in
Monterey loved Vasquez
and did not hang him.) Is it possible the people in San Jose threw the noose
on Tiburcio
Vasquez? Respuesta a Pregunta 323 - 14 December 2005According to Marie Northrop's Spanish-Mexican Families of Early California: 1769-1850, Volume II, p. 288, I can only find that a Anastacio Garcia killed Jose Joaquin Carmen de la Torre in November 1855 near Santa Barbara. They say Jose was trying to arrest Anastacio Garcia, a murderer, when Anastacio killed Jose. This Anastacio sounds like the one you are looking for. According to p. 96, a Agustin Anastacio Garcia was baptized 18 August 1834 at Mission San Juan Bautista. His brother was Manuel Garcia baptized 18 December 1823 at Mission San Juan Bautista and buried 22 September 1854 at Mission San Luis Obispo. De La Torre and Tiburcio Vasquez were my relatives. Regards Jim. My e-mail is jam8lrs@aol.com if you want some information on Hartnell. [James T. La TejedoraRespuesta a Preguntas 245, 266, 273, 297, y 310 - 26 November 2005Among the 340 Baja California Sur refugees evacuated from La Paz and San
Jose del Cabo by the New York Volunteers at the end of the Mexican War for
being American sympathizers were members of the Smith
and Duarte
families. The refugees arrived in Monterey in October 1848. Many of them are
listed in the 1850 U.S. Census for Monterey County. Pregunta 322 - 26 November 2005Who was Governor Jose Figueroa, 1792-1835? Before he was the governor of California he was commanding general of Sonora/Sinaloa. Where was he born, who were his parents, siblings? Bancroft index states when he died two sons living in Mexico came forward to claim his estate. Who were these sons and were they successful? Appears nothing is known of Governor Figueroa's family yet, some claim he was California's greatest governor. [Lesley (nonmember), Long Beach, Calif.] UPDATE Pregunta 322 - 14 December 2005More on Governor Jose Figueroa. Sorry, looks like it was his sister Guadalupe who claimed a portion of the estate for her two sons. According to Bancroft Index the estate took 25 years to settle. Further, a Juan Andres Martin married Josefa Figueroa in 1844, San Gabriel Mission Record and in the record it claims Josefa is the daughter of Ramon Figueroa and of Filamena Duarte. I see where some claim Ramon is the son of Governor Figueroa. Seems to me if he had legitimate heirs his estate could have been settled in a timely fashion . . . and not involved a sister. Bet he never married! [Lesley (nonmember), Long Beach, Calif.] Pregunta 321 - 26 November 2005I am supposed to be descended from Don Jose Antonio Yorba. My grandmother was Juanita McGlynn, daughter of Juvenia Yorba Wence. My grandmother died before I was born and I have had some difficulty discovering my family history. If there is any information you may be able to supply me it would be greatly appreciated. [Patric McGlynn (nonmember), Calif.] Pregunta 321 - 26 November 2005I am interested in anyone who is researching Talamantes-Farias.
My paternal side is from Culver City, Calif. area. My paternal side is Yorba
and Peralta.
Both are early mid-1700s, early California families and both land grant
holders. The first settler was Luis
Felipe Talamantes and his wife, Eldefonza
[Ildefonsa] Avila. On the other side are Jose
Antonio Yorba, who married a Grijalva
[Maria Josefa]. They are my great great great grandparents.
