I am looking for the church records for Villa de Sinaloa (Sinaloa de Leyva) from about 1700 - 1769. Would anyone happen to know where they might be located? Any advice will help. Thanks! [Anthony Ray (nonmember), Palmdale, Calif. genantray@yahoo.com]

I am trying to find out what the brand used at Rancho de Las Pulgas (owned by Arguello) was. All of the existing research seems to largely ignore the rancho period. Thanks! [Sarah Verbeck (nonmember), Redwood City, Calif.]
I am interested in the two Berryessa brothers who settled in Solano County. Jose de Jesus Berryessa y Villela and his wife, Nicolasa Antonia Higuera. I wonder if anyone has the names of the children (births, marriages and deaths) of this couple in their files. Also I am interested in Jose de Jesus Berryessa's brother, Sisto Antonio Berryessa y Villela and his wife, Maria Anastasia Higuera. (The two wives were sisters.) Again I wonder if anyone has information regarding the children of the last couple in their files that they would be willing to share. Thank you. [Helen B. Collins (member), San Jose, Calif.]
I am direct family to Maria Anastasia Higuera who was my great great great great grandmother. [Michelle Benedix (nonmember)]

Looking for information on Maria Marta Avila, born 1825, who married Juan Nepomucena Padilla in 1851. I am particularly interested in the later part of her life, where she lived with the del Valle family at Camulos with her sister Ascencion Varela, who was Isabel del Valle's mother. [Pat Saletore (nonmember), Santa Clarita, Calif.]
I'm a descendant of Micheal White and would be happy to share what documents and info that I have. juanblanco@msn.com [Jonathan White, Tacoma, Wash.]
I am researching information regarding Concepcion Olivas and Manuel Fuentes. They appear in the 1870 census for Monterey with their children Rosa, Francisco, Mariano, Manuela (my great, great grandmother), and Guadalupe. I believe that Concepcion Olivas was born in California prior to 1848, around 1835. Census records all state that she was in the state of California in 1850 until her death in 1897. Both Concepcion and Manuel died in Monterey, Calif. I have not been able to find a marriage certificate or birth certificates for either of them, any help would be greatly appreciated. My great great grandfather Antonio Espinosa is buried at the San Gabriel Mission. He died in 1885. Where can I find these records? D. Perez ( Espinosa) donna@thewesterngrp.com [Donna L. Perez (Espinosa) (nonmember), Alta Loma, Calif.]
Is there a resource available where I can locate an Early California woman by the name of Mathilda Hill? Ms. Hill supposedly purchased two of the homes formerly owned by the Californio pioneer Juana Briones. One of the homes purchased by Ms. Hill was in San Francisco and the other home was the (Peralta?) home. During this evening's exhibit of Juana Briones at Stanford University, Terry Pimsleur asked me if I had ever heard of Mathilda Hill. I have no information regardin Mathilda Hill, but would like to know if anyone may know something about this woman and I would like to hear from you. Thank you, [Lorri Frain (member), Mountain View, Calif.]
My great-grandmother from Santa Barbara was named Elizabeth Beatrice ---- , born in 1867 and died in Eureka, Calif. in 1914 after a long illness. I didn't list her last name because that is my question. My family has always called her Elizabeth Beatrice de Ruiz and we know she had a brother named Oswald/Osbaldo (?) Vecente Ruiz and other brothers named Nicholas and Andrew. However, there are NO records of an Elizabeth/Lizzie Ruiz in Santa Barbara, yet I have a recording of my grandfather talking about visiting Elizabeth's mother in the adobe family home on or near State Street. It seems her mother Magdalena (?) may have been born (1842) to Francisco Cavalleri and Maria Dominguez and might have married a (?) Tarr. There are NO records of Magdalena marrying a Ruiz, but census records show a Magdalena Tarr living with Lizzie and Andrew Tarr and Osbaldo Ruiz. Has anyone out there investigated Oswald? Andrew Tarr? Elizabeth Ruiz? Any clues would be most appreciated. Thanks very much. [Gayle Herde (not yet member), Aurora, Colo.]
